Exhibition proposal submission guidelines

Exhibition Proposals

• To submit an exhibition proposal for The Art Centre ~ Powell River Public Art Gallery, please send the following information by June 15, 2019. We welcome all forms of art.

• Artists are encouraged to attend the opening reception and give an artist talk.

Exhibition proposals should consist of:

1. Visual work: 10 – 15 images (digital images on CD or DVD or e-mail or file sharing: Dropbox, MediaFire and WeTransfer can be used to send large image files) clearly identified with name, number, title, dimensions, and a numbered slide list. If these are not the work you wish to show or intend on presenting new works, please indicate in your proposal; or 3 minute media submissions;

2. A letter of interest, stating a summary of exhibition proposal;

3. C.V., maximum 3 pages;

4. Artist statement, maximum 500 words;

5. Please indicate your preferred exhibition date.

• Digital submissions are preferred.

• Only completed proposals will be considered.

• Please allow 3 months for response for successful applications.

The Gallery

• The large exhibition space features plywood backed walls, open floor space, movable walls, west facing windows with UV and full blackout blinds for natural light options.

Documentation

• The Gallery documents all exhibitions digitally for our archives and publicity.

Fees

• The Art Centre ~ Powell River Public Art Gallery  pays CARFAC to professional artists when available. https://www.carfac.ca/tools/fees  current minimum fees http://carcc.ca/en/fee_schedule_2019_4_professional

Sales

• The gallery is a non-profit public art gallery.

• We do not sell artwork, but will direct patrons to the artist.

• Price lists are solely used for insurance purposes.
